PUJAS
“Puja” or religious prayers are offered in various forms and occasions to show reverence to God and make a divine connect through invocations, prayers, songs, and rituals. The word pūjā (Devanagari: पूजा) comes from Sanskrit, and means reverence, honour, homage, adoration, and worship. Puja may be performed on set frequency (like daily), on specific days and to mark special events. Laxmi Puja for example is carried out extensively on the occasion of Diwali. Puja may be performed alone, with family and friends and in community form in presence of a priest. In temples and priest-assisted puja, food, fruits and sweets may be offered to a deity, which after the puja, is shared with all present in the form of ‘prasad’ or blessed food.
The SD Mandir offers various Pujas, such as:
- Aayush Puja
- Durga Chowki
- Hawan
- Lakshmi Puja
- Navagraha Puja
- Namakaran / Mundan
- Satyanarayana Puja
- Vahana Puja
- Vivah (Wedding)
- Jagran
- Graha Pravesh
- Ramayana Path
Please contact the temple, if you wish to host a puja to mark a special event in your life and family, or in memory of a loved one
